Terms of use

These terms are between you and Louis Whyte, a sole trader in London who makes and runs LogHog (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using LogHog you agree to them. How we handle your information is in the privacy policy.

1. Your account

• You need to be at least 13 to use LogHog.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
• LogHog is for your own personal use, not for running a business.

2. What you put in

What you add to LogHog stays yours. You let us store it, copy it between your devices and process it only so that LogHog can work for you. If you add other people’s details, such as your guests’ names, make sure they would not mind.

LogHog keeps a weekly backup, but it is not a place to keep the only copy of something you cannot afford to lose. Keep your own copies of important files.

3. LogHog Premium

Premium adds Ask AI in every module, File backups for booking attachments and Where to watch in Watchlist. Everything else in LogHog is free.

• Price. The price is shown before you subscribe, in pounds, including VAT where it applies.
• Free trial. New subscribers get a 7 day free trial. If you do not cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
• Renewal. Premium renews every month until you cancel.
• Cancelling. On the website: Settings, Account, Cancel subscription. On iPhone: in your Apple ID’s subscriptions, in the phone’s Settings app. Premium carries on until the end of the month you have paid for, and then stops. We do not refund part of a month, except where the law says we must.
• Price changes. If the price goes up, we will tell you before it applies to you, so you can cancel first.
• Buying through Apple. A subscription bought in the iPhone app is sold and billed by Apple under Apple’s terms, and refunds are Apple’s decision.

4. Ask AI

• It can be wrong. Answers, estimates and anything read from a photo, such as the calories on a plate or the items on a receipt, are best guesses. Check anything that matters.
• It is not advice. Nothing Ask AI says is medical, nutritional, financial or legal advice. For those, ask a professional.
• Fair use. Premium includes a generous monthly and daily allowance for Ask AI. If you reach it, Ask AI pauses until the allowance resets and everything else keeps working. The app shows how much you have used in Settings.

5. Information from elsewhere

Film, TV, book and food details, where a title is streaming, and product names from barcodes come from other services. We show them as we receive them and cannot promise they are complete, correct or up to date.

6. Using LogHog fairly

Please do not try to break, overload or get around the limits of LogHog, get into anyone else’s account, copy or resell the service, or use it (including Ask AI) for anything unlawful or harmful.

7. Changes and availability

We keep improving LogHog, so features will change. We work hard to keep it running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change applies.

8. Ending

You can stop using LogHog and delete your account at any time from the app: Settings, Account, Delete account. That deletes everything in it and cancels a website subscription. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and will tell you why first unless the law or the risk to others stops us.

9. Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for loss that could not have been foreseen, or for business losses, since LogHog is for personal use.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing in them affects your legal rights as a consumer.

10. The iPhone app

If you use LogHog on iPhone, Apple’s standard licence agreement for apps applies as well. Apple is not responsible for LogHog or for supporting it; we are.

11. The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.
